We're gonna be well insulated! Upstairs Rear July 2019.
Rear of Museum Upstairs. There are 3 separate spaces on the first floor. The main gallery to the front, a conference/sitting area and a wonderful glass porch. There will be pocket doors from the Main Gallery to the conference area and accordion doors into the porch so it can be one large space or divided in three as needs be.

Stairwell, polished concrete is the planned floor finish throughout the building. The staircase will have a timber handrail and a timber strip on the steps.

Storage for Ballinglens Permanent Collection, curatorial & framing area downstairs. This is at the very rear of the build and is a fine large storage area where work can be viewed, stored and reframed. The door with the light streaming in is going to be closed and the back room used for storage of books, supplies and objects. As you can see track lighting will be installed in all the build. Thanks to Rory McGowan and his team at ARUP we got a specialist plan for lighting as a contribution to the Museum. We are beyond grateful!

Scaffolding down with work commencing on back stairs, 8th January 2019
Scaffolding coming down, windows/doors installed and exterior plasterwork complete. So Exciting! 10th December 2019.
Work is progressing well on The Ballinglen Museum of Contemporary Art. Plastering of the exterior is well underway with measures taken today for the gutters and downpipes. The €200,000 grant has served us well. We are now coming to the end of this money so work will be stalled until we raise more through donations or a grant. If you feel you can help us bring this wonderful project to fruition please do use the donate or Bank Transfer details above. Each contribution is important no matter how small. We remain committed to having a proper exhibition space for our 640+ works of art, establishing collaboratives with institutions nationally and internationally while also expanding our educational programme. Ballinglen's Permanent Collection of Art is unique, it's all work created in response to the beautiful, wild and inspirational landscape of North Mayo, Ireland. 20th November 2019.
